Sixth Form Enrichment
As part of our sixth form experience, we work with a number of partners, including employers, universities and colleges, to offer our students an enhanced experience while at sixth form.
We currently hold our Working Lunch Programme which takes place on a Friday. Employers attend either face-to-face or online and deliver a range of career and skills-based workshops to our sixth form students. An example of these include:
- Student Finance England
- Russell Group Universities
- Apprenticeship Providers
- Careers in Engineering
- Budgeting
- Pre-Teaching Award
Students will have the opportunity to take part in internal enrichment opportunities. We encourage students to take part in as many opportunities as possible, to enhance their skills and develop their leadership.
Examples of Internal Enrichment Opportunities include:
- Football
- Netball
- Athletics
- Choir
- Performing Arts
- Y7 Mentoring Scheme
- House Ambassador
All students will be assigned a House and are expected to attend all House Assemblies and take part in House Competitions throughout their two-year programme.
Work Experience
Students will have the opportunity to take part in Online Digital Work Experience.
Additionally, students can organise their own work experience during their study periods. Examples of work experience completed by our students include:
- Local primary school
- Coaching younger students in various sporting activities
- Volunteering for charities
- Observing a court or tribunal hearing
It is vital that they have a well-rounded experience for their two years of study with us and we aim to give them as many opportunities to broaden their horizons and enrich the pathway they have chosen to make them stand out when applying for university or higher/degree level apprenticeships.
