The Pupil Premium Purpose
The government provides academies and schools with additional funding to help reduce inequalities and gaps in attainment between those students who are disadvantaged and their peers.
This funding is called the Pupil Premium.
Every academy and school can select how they choose to use their Pupil Premium allocation, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for students. Every school needs to be held accountable for how this money is spent, which is why we make details of how Havelock Academy uses it available on our website.
Use of the Pupil Premium (and Catch-Up Funding) at Havelock Academy
Available to download below is information and an impact report regarding how Pupil and Recovery Premium funding is spent and the impact it has had at Havelock Academy.
This report also details the amount received and how we plan to use the funding (including catch-up funding) for 2022/23.
This Pupil and Recovery Premium strategy was first produced in October 2022 (a three-year strategy between 2022/23 and 2024/25), with the latest impact review published in December 2023.
The next review will be published in November 2024 upon the publication of provisional performance measures by the Department for Education.

Our Pupil Premium strategy is under-pinned by research from the EEF and the strategies that have the most impact on improving student outcomes, well-being and future aspirations.
