  • Saturday 18 September 2021 Havelock Academy Summer School 2021 We ran a 5-day summer school which was offered to all our Year 7 and Year 8 students (2020 – 2021 year groups) over a 5-day period (7th to 11th August for Year 7 and 11th to 15th August for Year 8).

  • Tuesday 2 March 2021 School re-opening (March 2021) We have created a dedicated webpage available by clicking here with all key details for the re-opening of the academy in March 2021.
  • Tuesday 23 February 2021 Update for Parents, Carers and Students (23/02/2021) Thank you for your support so far this year. Following the announcement yesterday from our Prime Minister, we are preparing for a full reopening from 8th March.  Students will initially receive a Covid test before returning to the classroom so return days and times will be staggered for this initial week back with students returning gradually throughout the week.

  • Monday 4 January 2021 Update for Parents/Carers (04/01/2021) We are sure that you will have seen the government announcement about school closures.  Whilst Havelock will be closed from tomorrow for the majority of pupils, our provision for children of critical worker parents who are at work (around shift patterns as appropriate) and those children in vulnerable groups will still be able to attend in person as planned and we will see those who have already registered with us to attend at 8.30am tomorrow.

  • Wednesday 16 December 2020 Fri 18th/Mon 21st December - Remote Learning As previously circulated to all students, parents and carers, both Friday 18th December and Monday 21st December will require students to work at home and access remote 'live' lessons using their academy email address and password.
  • Monday 14 December 2020 Academy closure (Monday 14th December 2020) Unfortunately our boilers have faulted again leaving us with no heating or hot water so Havelock Academy will be closed today (Mon. 14th December) to allow us to fix the problem.
  • Wednesday 9 December 2020 End of Term Update 9th December 2020Dear parents and carers,End of Term Arrangements for Christmas 2020I am writing to you to update you on our arrangements for the end of this term. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions, we are unable to hold our usual House Shout Inter House Singing Competition or our end of term Christmas Concert. We are, however, delighted that we are still able to hold our Christmas fundraising “Santa Run” – this time in year group bubbles during the afternoon of Thursday 17th December. We will also be holding a “Christmas Jumper” event on this day to raise money for our DRET Inspiration Fund where students can pay a suggested donation of £1 to wear a Christmas Jumper for the day. We are looking forward to this event and have already shared further details via a separate letter regarding sponsorship for students wishing to take part in the Santa Run.In light of the current climate and following recent government announcements about the end of
  • Tuesday 10 November 2020 FAO Year 9 Parents/Carers (10/11/2020) We can confirm that a Year 9 student at Havelock Academy has tested positive for Covid-19. Following guidance from the Department for Education and Public Health England, we will be isolating all students who have been in close contact with the student concerned, with letters going out to relevant Year 9 families.   Now that we have identified those who have been in close contact, we are able to welcome back the rest of the year group and unless you have received a letter requesting that your child isolates, then your child should return to the academy on Wednesday 11th November 2020. Year 9 students who are isolating will have work set for them online on the student portal. Year 9 who are isolating will return to the academy on Monday 23rd November. 
  • Monday 26 October 2020 Update for Parents and Carers (26/10/2020) We can confirm that a Year 10 student at Havelock Academy has tested positive for Covid-19. Following guidance from the Department for Education and Public Health England, their entire year group are now self-isolating. A letter has been sent to Year 10 families via MCAS and email.  Year 10 students can return to the academy on Wednesday 4th November.*  This is a precautionary measure as it is difficult to trace all bubble contacts due to the school being closed for half-term.  
  • Monday 19 October 2020 Letter to Parents and Carers (19/10/2020) 19th October 2020Advice to All Parents - Single caseDear Parents and Carers,We have been made aware of a member of our school community who has tested positive for COVID 19. The person has been isolating at home for the last week so has not been in contact with anyone in the academy during this time. We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England at every stage. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
