Students work with sport's best at annual Performance Conference
Over 50 students from all eleven secondary schools within the David Ross Education Trust, including students from Havelock Academy had the opportunity to take part in the annual Performance Conference, held at the £40-million David Ross Sports Village at the University of Nottingham.
Our Performance Conference aims to bring together some of the top performing athletes, giving students aged 11-16 years the opportunity to attend four workshop sessions:
- Injury and Rehabilitation
- Team You
- Planning for peak performance
- Strength conditioning
The workshops were run by sports performance specialists from the University of Nottingham, British athlete Jenny Meadows and British swimming champion Joe Roebuck, all of whom shared their experience and knowledge with our students.
Shane Ward, Head of Sports Enrichment, said: “The Performance Conference is just one element of our sports enrichment programme that we run for students across all our schools. As a Trust, we are committed to providing students with the most inspiring opportunities, enabling and equipping them for the future.”
