Dear Parent / Carer,
All of us at the David Ross Education Trust are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
On Friday we began with special assemblies across all our schools, in which we remembered the life of the Queen. We are planning further tributes to the Queen this week, including a Trust-wide Memorial Service and a Book of Remembrance. Our Book of Remembrance will also be made available later in the week at reception for any parents, carers and members of our community who wish to come into the academy to add a contribution.
As you may know, we are now part way through a period of national mourning. School will remain open as normal during this period, but there may need to be some adjustments to our usual routines. A bank holiday has been granted on Monday 19th September for the funeral so the academy will be closed on this day but will reopen as usual the following day.
We appreciate that some students may be more affected by this sad news than others. We will ensure they are supported appropriately; should you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual way.
With best wishes,
Emma Marshall
Principal
