FAO Year 10 Parents, Carers and Students
The staff team at Havelock Academy would like to thank all parents, carers and students for your support in recent weeks during this difficult time.
As you may be aware, this morning Ofqual published details of how GCSE and A-level grades will be calculated and awarded for this academic year for our Year 11 and Year 13 students. This should not impact on Year 10 students but it is important to be aware that work that would normally have been completed during this time of closure will still need to be covered as exams should be running as normal next year.
For Year 10 students we have provided GCSE preparation work for them in the form of booklets and websites that will help to ensure that they don’t fall behind. This is in addition to the home learning that has been set by teachers via our online learning platforms (i.e. ShowMyHomework and Google Classroom). These booklets and websites are available via the KS4 link on the website www.secondary.dret.cloud .
We appreciate that this is a difficult and unsettling time, but would like to reassure all parents, carers and students that academy staff and the Trust are working remotely to ensure that we are able to transition back into strong learning routines when the academy re-opens.
In the meantime, thank you once again for your support with this new way of learning. Stay safe and enjoy some rest over the Easter holidays. Your teachers are already looking forward to seeing the completed holiday work later on this month.
Very best wishes from the staff team at Havelock Academy. #TeamHavelock
