EAL
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Our EAL provision is designed to help students develop confidence and proficiency in English while ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life. We provide tailored support to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, enabling students to achieve their full potential.
Students may receive support through:
- In-class EAL support
- Small group and one-to-one interventions
- Vocabulary and language development programmes
- Bilingual resources and dictionaries
- Pastoral and wellbeing support
- Close communication with families
Our EAL provision is led by Ms Cristina Bentley (EAL Coordinator), supported by Ms Isabelle Grigore (EAL Mentor). Together, they work closely with teaching staff to ensure every student feels welcomed, included, and successful.
The EAL Office and EAL classroom are based in Tiger House, where students can access additional support, resources, and guidance throughout their journey at Havelock Academy.
We celebrate multilingualism and believe that every language spoken by our students is a strength that enriches our school community.
