Havelock Academy

Our goal is to provide excellent opportunities in an open, positive and purposeful climate for all to achieve excellence, become lifelong learners and responsible, successful, well rounded citizens.

Admissions to the Academy are governed by the Academy's Admissions policy which is reviewed annually.

Broadly, admissions priority is given to those living in the Havelock catchment and thereafter following the hierarchy of criteria laid out in the policy.

The current admission numbers for Year 7 - 11 are:

  • Year 7 is 220.
  • Year 8 is 200.
  • Year 9 is 200.
  • Year 10 is 192.
  • Year 11 is 192.

The academy will from time to time host Open Days and these will be published on our website and social media platforms. The academy recognises, however, that the best time and way to see it in action is to visit on an ordinary working day. The Academy will be pleased to hear from any prospective or current parent, friend, or associate of the Academy in order to arrange a visit.

We as an academy are responsible for our admissions. Further information regarding admissions can be obtained from Mrs Thornton (

The application form for 2021-22 admissions can be downloaded from the file downloads panel on this webpage or by clicking here. This can be completed and returned to or printed and submitted to the academy. A printed version of the application form is also available upon request.

Statutory guidance on admissions can be found by clicking here for the School Admissions Code.

There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel for unsuccessful applicants.
