Uniform and Appearance

In uniform and appearance two important strands of Academy life converge. The students' capacity for self-expression as distinctive individuals meets the Academy's wish to educate its members in the values of smartness and good appearance.
Extremes of fashion, in terms of clothing, decency, make-up, jewellery and perfume are inappropriate. Thus, good hygiene and clean clothes, provide a starting point for appearance which should be understated, modest and uncontroversial.

The sponsor and the Academy are committed to ensuring that the required uniform as a whole retails at around £100 per student. Parents are, however, responsible for ensuring their children have and wear the correct uniform.
If parents require financial assistance with the purchase of uniform they should in the first instance contact the Finance Director at the Academy, Mr M Ibbertson.
The parents of children who flout the uniform requirements may be called to school and children who defy these requirements risk being sent home.
Sixth Form
Sixth Form students must be smart and the Academy expects students to dress appropriately. Business wear, based on a two piece suit and tie or cravat, is acceptable.
