The Academy seeks to build students' confidence in their capacity to learn, achieve academic success and develop skills. The Academy aspires to be an International Baccalaureate World School and now has "candidate status" for the Middle Years Programme. As a result, the curriculum at the The co-curricular programme, led by the Houses, will also contribute to five areas of interaction: Approaches to Learning, Human Ingenuity, Health and Social Education, Environmental Engagement and Community and Service. Each student will have responsibility for helping to shape an individually tailored learning plan, supported by the House tutor and the guidance team. This will ultimately contribute to a record of achievements which forms the bedrock of the Fifth Form Academy Certificate. The Academy seeks to employ the best qualified staff in all its teaching, training and support roles. The nature of its curriculum requires a significant investment in training and this extends to the pastoral base needed to support learning. The first and major pre-requisite for any member of staff at the Havelock Academy is that they care about and for the children for whom they are responsible. If you are interested in working at Havelock Academy refer to the Staff Vacancies section of this site.
