The Houses

At the heart of the Academy's pastoral care of its students are the eight Houses. The Houses are named after eight trawlers of the Ross fleet, many with Royal Navy associations. The eight names were selected by students on the Academy Student Council.

Each House has its own House Head, a team of tutors and, in each year, a guidance tutor.

The House Head is also responsible for the development of House-based co-curricular activities.

Each House tutor, who may come from any area of Academy life, looks after a year group House tutor group.

Each Guidance Team tutor (one in each year group Forms 1 - 5) is responsible for ensuring the coordination of academic progress across the House tutor groups.
