About The Academy - Broadening Horizons

Welcome to the Havelock Academy. Established in September 2007 and sponsored by the David Ross Foundation, Havelock represents an initiative to "Broaden Horizons" for its students, building on the Government's wish to provide opportunity and aspiration for the young people of the East Marsh, Heneage and Old Clee communities.

With the support of North East Lincolnshire the Academy sets out to collaborate with a range of parties in providing an independent, pastorally based, innovative curriculum for its students. A global dimension to the Academy's associations will grow in the next few years, along with a greater local project involvement and the development of a new boarding provision. In this academic year, 2009/10, the Academy has approximately 900 students, equal numbers of boys and girls, and some 150 staff. Academy years are organised as Forms, with students aged 11 entering Form 1 (Year 7). A new Sixth Form is now open, offering a distinctive and challenging opportunity for young, aspiring adults.

I hope you will enjoy exploring our website. We are always pleased to receive constructive comment, but better still would welcome you if you would like to see the life of our community at first hand.
