Recognition for Havelock at education awards
Havelock Academy’s Sport and Performing Arts department and Year 10 student, Andrew Hill, were recently named as finalists in the Grimsby Telegraph's Golden Apple Awards.
The awards, which recognise and celebrate the talent, skills and hard work that goes into teaching and providing education in North and North East Lincolnshire, were held at the Humber Royal Hotel last term.
Taking home runner-up for the 'Continued Team Commitment' award, the Sport and Performing Arts department were delighted with the outcome.
Andrew, who also secured a finalist place in the ‘Promising Pupil Award’ category said of the nomination: “It is a privilege to receive recognition for my work and it goes to show that the extra effort does pay off.
"I’m so happy for the academy too and we were proud to represent Havelock at the awards ceremony.”
Wendy Jackson, Principal at Havelock Academy, said: “I'm delighted that our staff and students have been recognised at this year's awards. We are all very proud of their achievements.”
