Powerful performance from Havelock students

During the spring term, Havelock Academy was victorious at the Humberside Police Rock Challenge.

Held at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, the event brought together students from across the local area to showcase hard-hitting subjects though the mediums of dance and drama.

Havelock Academy students performed 'One World, One Truth and a Million Lives', which was a powerful production, depicting the struggle of human life and animal cruelty.

Using their expressive dance and drama skills, students presented an emotional battle between animals and laboratory workers before ending the performance with a sorrowful portrayal of the planet today.

After winning their heat and picking up nine awards for excellence along the way, Havelock Academy will now go on to compete in the Northern Premier Final at Grimsby Auditorium in July.

Wendy Jackson, Principal at Havelock Academy, said: “We are immensely proud of our students’ endeavours and they really stole the show at the Police Rock Challenge.

“We cannot wait to see their next performance in the Northern Premier Final and we know that, whatever the outcome, they will try their best and do everyone proud.”
