A levels: Havelock Academy students celebrate success

Students at Grimsby’s Havelock Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, are celebrating after receiving their A level grades today.  


Wendy Jackson, Principal at Havelock Academy, said:“It is so pleasing to see our students leaving Havelock Academy with their A Level results today, ready for the next exciting stage in their lives.


“It has been a landmark year for our Sixth Form, with the opening of our brand-new David P.J. Ross Sixth Form Centre, offering outstanding facilities and an exceptional all-round education as part of our post-16 offer.” 


“We are very proud of our students’ successes and wish them the very best for the future.”


Georgia-Mae Emsley will be studying Nursing at Sheffield Hallam University after obtaining a B in Art, a B in Film and a Distinction in BTEC Health and Social Foundation Diploma. She commented: “Thank you so much to everyone at Havelock Academy. Their support has helped me to aim high and reach my goals. I can’t wait to start my next chapter!”


Jordan-Leigh Hastings, who achieved an A in ICT and a Distinction in BTEC Health and Social Foundation Diploma, is currently in the middle of the recruitment process to join the Royal Air Force. She said:“I am delighted with my results and I’m really excited to see what my future holds!”


After receiving her results, which included an A grade in Art, Melia Nielsen will be working full-time at Business Hive, a local employer network where she completed work experience earlier this year. Melia will go to university in September 2019. She said: “I’m really excited to start working full-time before attending university next year. Thank you to Havelock Academy for helping me secure this incredible opportunity.”


Lucy Wigfield was also celebrating after achieving the grades needed to secure her place at Bishop Grosseteste University. Lucy will join Bishop Grosseteste University in September, where she will read Drama and Education Studies.
