Hawks Hockey Cup Success!
Havelock entered the first ever DRET Hockey Cup finals and came away as Plate champions!
Highfields Hockey centre in Nottingham staged the finals where each secondary academy within the David Ross Education Trust was represented. The finals were split into an U13 and U15 competition. Former England hockey international Jenny Bimson also attended the event, delivered skills and Q&A sessions.
Havelock's U13 & U15 teams came away with gold medals in the Plate competitions. Brilliant performances from all the girls involved, in particular from Casey Bevers (U13) and Mollie Mathews (U15) who were voted Havelock players of the tournament in their age groups.
Overall the event was a huge success and for Havelock to win gold medals is a huge achievement as this is the first year we have had established academy hockey teams in any year group. The girls have worked really hard and the performances at the cup proved that both teams have potential. Hopefully this is the first of many hockey trophies for Havelock.
