Havelock Academy announces partnership with Siemens UK
Havelock Academy has joined forces with well-known technology company, Siemens UK, to help inspire young people.
Set up by Jenny Vincent, Enterprise Co-ordinator for the Careers and Enterprise Company, this partnership will allow students at Havelock Academy to access high quality employer interactions with Siemens UK and help inspire the next generation of the labour market.
The partnership will hugely benefit students, as research shows that young people are more likely to earn more in the future if they have a number of meaningful interactions with employers during their time in education.
To mark the occasion, Katharine York from Siemens UK attended one of Havelock Academy’s monthly Business Banquets where employers are invited into the academy to dine with the students and discuss their future plans.
Katharine York said: “When I was at school, I only knew about the jobs I saw around me every day.
“I am excited and proud to be bringing business and employability experience directly into Havelock, and I know the team is already brimming with ideas to implement.”
Wendy Jackson, Principal at Havelock Academy, added: “Our students will benefit greatly from the amazing opportunity to work with Siemens staff, gaining a greater understanding of the sector and those important skills needed in the workplace.
“It is vital that our students engage with employers to help raise their aspirations and inspire them to think about the world of work which lies ahead of them.”
