Humanities
In the Humanities pupils will explore and investigate issues which are fundamental for living in a modern society. Pupils will be able to develop their own identities through an understanding of History at personal, local, national and international levels. Developing an understanding of the way humanity has evolved and shaped the world lies at the heart of the curriculum.
Pupils will see how different cultures and civilisations have learned to flourish, both individually within their localities and as citizens within a global community. A study of the moral and ethical frameworks which have grown up in different societies will inform pupils' own decision-making and thinking about political and religious issues.
Through Geographical studies pupils will gain a sense of the relationships between space and time and the processes that operate in the world, from volcanoes to weather systems. A sense of wonder about other cultures and places in the world will initiate and develop an understanding of the complex and dynamically changing globe.
